Puppy Basics - Rolling Enrollment
Our rolling enrollment puppy class (puppies 1 year and under) allows you to enroll at anytime and get your puppy off to a great start, right away. This class includes a private in-home training session prior to the group class. This in-home session will include information suited for your particular puppy and may include information on house training, crate training, socialization and the foundation for training your dog.

The remaining 6 group classes will focus on real life situations so your puppy can be well-behaved at the groomer, on walks, at the veterinarian and more! The skills taught will include sit, down, stay, remaining calm, polite greetings, leave-it, food bowl exercises and polite leash walking

Adult Dog Basics - Rolling Enrollment
Our rolling enrollment adult dog class (dogs 1 year and over) allows you to enroll at anytime and get your dog off to a great start, right away. This class is great for newly adopted dogs or older dogs in need of training. The class includes a private in-home training session prior to the group class. This in-home session will include information suited for your particular dog and may include information on house training, crate training, socialization and the foundation for training your dog.

FREE Puppy Social!
A tired puppy is a good puppy! Our FREE Puppy Social hosted with Maddie & Ellie's House in Chantilly provides an hour of socialization and fun for your puppy! All vaccinated puppies under 6 months are welcome. No pre-registration required.

Puppy Basic/S.T.A.R. Puppy
This is an exciting new program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. S.T.A.R. stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, Responsibility.

The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy class is for all puppies including mixed breeds and purebreds up to 1 year old.

The 6 week class will focus on polite manners during greetings and grooming; walking on leash; obedience commands - sit, down, come; reaction to distractions; and being handled by someone else.

The test will be offered at the end of the class and will be optional. If you decide to take the test with your puppy and pass you will receive the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Medal and you and your puppy will be listed in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy records.

Sit Happens! Adult Dog Basic Skills Class
Our adult dog class is for dogs 6 months and older and provides exercises to help build confidence and work on basic skills, including loose leash walking, polite greetings, sit, down, stay, come and leave it. We will work on improving your communication with your dog by building your dog's basic skills and incorporating games to make training fun for you and your dog.


Basic Good Manners Class
Our Basic Manners Class is for puppies and dogs of any age and focuses on basic good manners which include, polite greetings, loose leash walking, coming when called, sit, drop it, down and stay.


Intermediate/Canine Good Citizen Prep Class
Our intermediate class will improve your dog's ability to focus on you around distractions. This class will focus on good manners. We will work on the elements of the CGC test which include polite greetings, handling by friendly strangers and passing other dogs on leash. This class will prepare you and your dog to take the optional Canine Good Citizen test. The CGC test will be offered at the end of the class.

Canine Good Citizen Test
The CGC test is offered at the end of every CGC prep class and is free to class members. The CGC test is $10 for non-class members. Please contact Mica Dog Training for more information.


Tricks and Games 101 (4 weeks)
Does your dog know the basics of sit, down, stay and come and you are looking for something fun to do together? Our Fun and Games class utilizes tricks and games to improve your dog's responses. We provide competitive and non-competitive activities such as nose games, musical downs and relay races. We also include teaching your dog to go to his place and hand targeting to teach a variety of tricks.


Intro to Nose Games (4 weeks)
Is your dog fearful or anxious but you'd like to find something fun to do with him? Are you looking for something new to try with your dog? Nose Games can help! Nose Games are a wonderful activity that utilizes your dog's nose and natural ability to find things. This teaser class in January will provide the option to come try out this fun activity. Dog Sports 101 (4 weeks)
Our Dog Sports 101 class gives dogs and handlers a taste of two popular dog sports, Rally and Agility. Handlers will have a chance to try out these sports in a short 4 week class. Students and dogs will be introduced to basic rally signs and some agility equipment.


Walking Rover (3 weeks)
Want to have a dog that's fun to take on walks in the beautiful weather? Our Walking Rover Class will be 3-weeks. This class focuses on practical skills and is intended for dogs new to training and dogs needing a training refresher.

Skills covered will be those needed for an enjoyable walk and include loose leash walking, polite greetings, polite behavior around other dogs, leave-it, down-stay.


Dog Sports Club
Looking for something to do after your dog has learned the basics? This class will focus on a different activity each week and include occasional weekend field trips. Class activities will include nose games, rally exercises, heeling, recalls, games, tricks and real life skill practice at wineries, parks, local pet food stores, etc. This will also be a fun time for classmates to get together with their dogs.

The class will be open to student/dog teams that have completed at least two classes with Mica Dog Training or have instructor permission.


Private Training
Private training is a great way to address particular problems you are having with your puppy or dog in your home and also to address more serious behavioral problems, particularly fear and aggression issues. Private sessions are also ideal for people with hectic schedules and unable to attend classes weekly.

Mica Dog Training offers private in-home sessions
-- Initial session is 60-90 minutes and the cost is $100.
-- Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes and the cost is $75.
